SDV reference page covering central compute, zonal controllers, OTA updates, automotive middleware, observability and service-oriented vehicle platforms.
The SDV model separates application behavior from fixed ECU hardware. Functions can be updated, measured and operated after production, but this requires stable abstractions, secure boot chains, update orchestration and a clear interface between safety-critical and non-critical workloads.
A software-defined vehicle depends on a trustworthy in-vehicle data fabric. Gateways, zonal controllers and middleware decide how signals become services, which data is logged, what can leave the vehicle and how cloud systems receive fleet-level telemetry.
